| So what's the status on this? I remember something about Tim saying he would get Chris Vimes working on this. - fiberwire wrote:
I was thinking of a way to improve the inventory system. This is what I came up with.
The notes in the image will explain a lot.
Things that would be changed/removed: -Hotkey menu removed (see note about hotkeys in image) -Character display in inventory removed (useless) -Potion menu removed (replaced with timers on the actual inventory screen) -Item amounts in the right panel of inventory removed (replaced with numbers on the actual icon squares) -/hp command removed (kills to level would be displayed under player stats) -Money, HP, and Armor display in inventory (removed because it's already displayed in the GUI int he top-left corner) -Gun Stat bars on the right panel removed (replaced with actual gun stats)
New Things: -Hotkey display on item icons, letting you know which guns are on which hotkey. -Labels: Would allow players to create labels, specify items to be under created labels, specify a color for the label, and have the items outlined in that color in the actual inventory. -Auto Sorting: Would automatically sort items according to their labels. -Legend to tell you which color corresponds to which label. -Additional stats displayed for guns: Clip, Ammo type used, Shop Value, and Sellback value would be displayed on the right panel. -Item Descriptions for non-gun items detailing what they do, what they're used for, where you get them, etc. -Inventory setting button denoted by a wrench in the bottom-right corner of inventory.
-Changed the color, but that's just for looks (and to make color outlines stand out more).

I like it other than: Gun stats being displayed. I do not believe gun stats should be displayed anymore, in any manner. People are given false impressions of weapons based on face-numerical value while the item's "feel" may be completely contary/ Revelation of gun stats were a mistake for Era. I'd prefer that they did a guessing game... most of them wouldn't even know if they got items with identical stats rofl. Anyways, past my rant, it looks good man. |

i'm sorry u have problems reading stats, but most people can read them. do u just not want every1 to know that u made every gun's fire rate .15, .2, .25, .3 etc instead of using intermediate values? |

Intermediates values would not work. Graal runs at 20 Frames per second. The statistics cannot go below .05 intervals, it will round (down) them to those ranges. i.e .145 freeze = .1 freeze. Therefore, shut up Tk, you're an idiot. @Koho: Wha'd I tell you about breathing? Stop it, its a poor habit. |

| Wil's saying the feel of a gun is more important than the stats. Basically, if you didn't know what the freeze of a gun was for a fact, you would have a harder (not hard) time guessing.
Before I knew about checking stats, in the old stats model, there were guns with .11, .12, .13, and .14 freeze, and I thought they all felt different. Once I learned it was all the same, they all started feeling the same. It's kind of a mental thing. |

@Koho:
Wha'd I tell you about breathing? Stop it, its a poor habit. yeah that's theoretically..it works like that for gun freeze but not for fire rate just try the tech9 (.23 fire rate) then a .2 or .25 fire rate gun and you'll realise i'm right. remember how souizen was faster than mp5 (.22 vs .25)? and guns like mt going from .24 to .22 fire rate and s6 from .22 to .2 (before change of gun stats) and the difference was definitely noticeable |

| It's also entirely possible that since you thought it was faster according to the stats, it felt faster. |

Yeah when I used to have a G36c and the stats say it has a .1 freeze even though the script is a .15, I raped with it. Once I learned it was .15 I started doing shitty. So mental. By the way, that looks fucking amazing. I would do everything I could to help get this ball rolling, it's fucking SICK. |

lol..i can recognise different fire rates and i've also tested it, ask tim/jem to let u try it out or just ask rambot to lend u tech9, which is the only gun which has a fire rate that isn't a multiple of .05. |

| This new inventory looks cool. More functionality is always good. Add more customization and more commands, too - the more advanced the better. I like to fine-tune my control scheme. |
