Usually when a ETA quits there's an Assistant to step up. In this case, both were fired... so what's gonna happen?

The gang events yesterday didn't happen and I don't want to see that repeated tomorrow as well. We need some ETA(s), there's even very few regular ETs even and events are becoming scarce again.

Just making this problem acknowledged and hoping for some insight into what's going to happen.

Discuss/enlighten.

all you'd have to do is set the conditions (i.e. event, number of members per gang, point/time limit) and invite another gang.

Are more ET's gunna be hired because of this situation cos there were 90 people on earlier no ET was hosting i was like sort it out...

I had so much shit planned but there was to much shit going on with staff at the time so that was why i stood down, nothing to do with not actually wanting to do ETA. There was to many chiefs and not enough Indianian's.

Maybe, just maybe, we should make being a developer (well-rounded) be a requirement for ETA... its worked out well in the past.

I do agree with that requirement but not allot of people can actually develop and if they can shit prob won't get done anyway. I actually started developing my own events when i was ETA but that was towards the end when all that balls up was going on.

It's easy putting levels together the problem is getting somebody to script it. Why would a scripter do ETA when he could just get a scripter tag with more rights/freedom.

Tim might think he doesn't need an ETA because it seems like he doesn't really care about it. Yes, staff can just host gang events but who's going to keep the ET's motivated? Who's going to hire/fire? Who's going to deal with complaints. You'll find allot of ET's that work there ass of because they wan't to become ETA/AETA.

Starting to go of-topic but was just wondering why the statue room was removed Tim. Maybe you really are thinking there is no need for ETA? Or that you or somebody ballsed up the statues. Allot where missing, just deleted it because you couldn't fix it? Just curious.

OR 4-5 senior ETs should be allowed to host gang events. gang events should also be hosted at least once a day at a set time, there is really no reason why not to do so (if the problem is MVPs simply award them 1-2 times a week and do ECs for the rest of the days)

I don't see why he wouldn't, making events at your whim is the ultimate freedom. Many of the factors that bog down other systems, i.e. the economy, or fairness or w.e, do not bog down events. Events are a whole new medium, that means... for that segment of Era, you're essentially creating your own mini-world and can do whatever the fk you want with it. The zombies event is a perfect example of this. Furthermore, your ideas can bounce around wherever and you can implement whatever functionality you want in your new world. Its the best!

Secondly, the things you just listed, my one-year old little brother can handle that.

Oh, true. Not hard, just necessary. I agree. However, going the extra mile to make it more "useful" would be assigning it to a well-rounded developer.

In my opinion, I believe gang events should be once weekly not everyday. Keep it special and instead, raid.

better to raid? as i've said, gangs make 2-3k points a week now, it used to be 10-15k points a week

In all my years of Era, I don't recall when gangs averaged 10,000-15,000 points per week. That is simply not true.

Blazian Bandits, at its peak (last summer), averaged roughly 3.5k-5,000 points per week.

We have 3,500 points this week, its a good start.

Secondly, the ability of gang events to muster up massive amounts of people would only deteriorate the more frequently you host them. It is partially due to their rarity that they're able to draw a crowd. Host them daily, and people will treat them like regular events... who gives a fk.

Was wondering when that was gonna come in. While you were gone and gang ULMS actually gave gang points, actually you might have been here for the end of that....idk. Gangs got a lot of points, as previously stated. When that wasn't in state and now that regular ULMS doesn't give gang points either, I find it hard to believe that it is even possible for a gang to get 10k points in one week.
