There is a tutorial, they're all over Era in the form of instructional auto bots (diggers, tree cutters, flower baskets). You can thank BlueMelon for those, fine ass job.

Indeed, I've showed a noob or two to these NPCs and they got along quite fine afterwords. I still sometimes blast at them though thinking they're actual people when I'm high but that's just a minor inconvenience. (That flower pickin' hoe between unstick and the spar definitely has survived a few dozen axe swings)
