They cant get in contact with the guys they rent the servers from and get them guys to do something at there end? I'm sure theres ways to do something about it.... If you're talking about the ddos attacks. |

If you're talking about the ddos attacks. DDoS attacks can usually be contained at the router level by dropping packets from the attack IPs before they reach the server, but it depends a lot on the type of attack (e.g. if it's a SYN flood this will actually cause more problems). There are practical solutions to mitigate the attack but they may not be in a position to implement them depending on the type of infrastructure they rent (they probably don't control the upstream routers and good proactive DDoS protection can be expensive and may not even be offered). In their position it sounds like they're taking the best path and provisioning additional servers to handle the attack while a backend server handles legitimate requests after they've been sifted through. If they had moved onto EC2, which they talked about a few years ago, this would be a lot easier for them to handle. |

It'll not be like this all week. In order for these attacks to happen whoever is doing this has to leave his machine on. Nobody is going to leave there machine on. Correct me if i'm wrong. |

They are probably using a small botnet to perform the attacks. In the past they've infected computers with cheating tools for Graal that also included a trojan. A single machine, especially one on a home connection, would be hard-pressed to shut down server-grade equipment. |

Will this move lower latency for european players? It will be closer to europe than seattle is, so most likely. |
